Gr. 3-12 Social Studies/Geography

Learn to use Dinah Zike's Foldables and manipulatives as foundational, visual-kinesthestic learning tools. Foldables are tools used to:

help students learn to organize, display, and arrange data
integrate language arts, mathematics, and science into the study of Social Studies and Geography
master academic vocabulary and develop personally meaningful vocabulary
develop ownership and investment in the Social Studies curriculum

Gain experience with newly developed manipulatives while you learn how Dinah has adapted her Foldables for use in spirals, binders, and composition books. Assessment, differentiation, and integration of learning techniques are emphasized, along with practical train the trainer tips and research. Inform curricular decision-making with your newfound knowledge of 3-D interactive graphic organizers.
