ELL/ESL Strategies with Foldables

Learn to use Dinah Zike's Foldables and Visual Kinesthetic Vocabulary (VKV) manipulatives as foundational, visual-kinesthetic literacy tools with students of all ages.
Dinah Zike's Foldables are tools to help students:

develop deep and lasting understanding of content material by re-coding text and graphics, including electronic media and real-world print
manipulate the building blocks of language through VKVs
master academic language and build personally meaningful vocabulary
write "a little, a lot" across content areas
develop literacy strategies for successful communication

Assessment, differentiation, and integration of learning techniques are emphasized, along with practical train the trainer tips and research findings. Inform your curricular decision-making with newfound knowledge of 3-D interactive graphic organizers. This course has a K-12 focus.
